The administrative compound is the first community in Lae to celebrate Christmas with the theme “Quest Prosperity” last Friday.
The event was a success as many residents came to watch the Christmas carols and the Christmas drama about the birth of Jesus Christ.
Program host Abo Poron, who is also an evangelist, said the purpose of the event is to unite communities to celebrate Christmas and know the story of Jesus Christ so that children today ‘ hui know the true meaning of Christmas.
“With the end of the year celebrations, we want to bring everyone together for the sake of our children’s future. We say Merry Christmas, but we don’t know the meaning, ”Poron said.
People came to 7th Street, Kamkumung, Bundi Camp and Eriku to attend the program.
Mr Poron said it was a challenge for parents because children today only know Santa Claus, but not the real story of Jesus Christ.
“But we hope our little program will remind them to help their children know Jesus,” he said.
Mr Poron said the event aims to carry the message of hope to parents and children to know the true meaning of Christmas.
Mr Poron said that the theme of the quest for prosperity is basically saying that everyone has potential and ability.
He thanked everyone who contributed to the event, including Ps Dulan from East Taraka Church of Hope and Evangelist Jimmy Kore from Our Savior Lutheran Church.
