Rita E. (St. Germain) Branchaud, 94, of North Smithfield, died January 19, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of the late Paul C. Branchaud. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Aurore (Lapierre) St. Germain. She has lived in North Smithfield most of her life.
Rita was an inspector for Polytop for 10 years, retiring in 1989 and previously worked at the former WT Grant. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a life member of the VFW Post 6342 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her coffee and reading books.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Branchaud, of North Smithfield; his daughter-in-law, Tammi Carboni-Branchaud, of Vermont; two grandchildren, David Brodeur and his wife, Alisha, of North Smithfield, and Gunnery Sgt. Leon Branchaud of Jacksonville, NC. She was predeceased by her son, Leo Branchaud, and two sisters, Lucille LaForest and Constance Sutherland.
His funeral will be Thursday, January 27, 2022, beginning with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Holt’s Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a mass Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville, RI.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
