William M. Trucchi Jr., of Pocassett, MA, vice president and co-owner of Trucchi’s Supermarkets passed away on November 25, 2021, at the age of 74, at his home in Pocasset, MA. Her battle with cancer over the past few years has shown her courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite all the pain, Bill took out a breath and stayed strong until the end.
Mr. Trucchi was born on October 17, 1947 in Taunton, MA, son of William M. Trucchi Sr. & Violet (Nolet) Trucchi. “Bill” worked with his father and siblings from an early age to create a successful supermarket chain in Southeast Massachusetts, in operation since 1928.
He attended Taunton schools and graduated in 1965 from Msgr Coyle High School and was a communicant at St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset. He served his country in the Army Reserves. He loved hunting and fishing in his youth. He had belonged to several golf courses in the region and was currently an active member of the Pocasset Golf Club. He also enjoyed traveling with his close friends.
Bill was a member of the West Bridgewater Gridiron Club and was an active supporter of youth athletics in West Bridgewater where he previously resided. He was a member and past president of the Frozen Food Association of New England. He was a member of the Mass Food Association, as well as several other industry sponsored charities.
Mr. Trucchi is survived by his children Billy and Shari Trucchi of West Bridgewater, Maria and Jamie Yarnall of Pocasset, Gina and David Hutchins of Fall River and Jason and Ann Marie Trucchi of Old Tappan NJ as well as his 10 grandchildren, Billy , Mason, Zachary, Nathan, Emma, ​​Vienne, Gennaro, Jared, Kaiden and Jaxon. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He is also survived by his siblings, David Trucchi of Plymouth, James Trucchi of Raynham, Deborah Oldfield of Onset, Roy Trucchi and Kim Cloutier both of Taunton. He was predeceased by his sisters, Judith Rodier, Wilma Trucchi and Nina Lema.
Visitations will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 584 West Falmouth Hwy., West Falmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset, MA. Interment will be private.
