San Francisco (KGO) – Golden State Warriors Andrew Wiggins could be forced to make a decision.

Wiggins was not vaccinated and the NBA on Friday rejected his request for a religious exemption.

This means he won’t be allowed to play in the Warriors’ home area, the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Even though the NBA accepted the religious exemption request, San Francisco’s COVID-19 policy did not allow Wiggins to play at home.

The city’s health department issued a firm statement on Friday, saying people over 12 should be vaccinated no matter what, if they are participating in a large indoor rally.

He also noted that this requirement applies to performers and players employed by host teams at large indoor events.

The full statement from the NBA is as follows:
The NBA has reviewed and denied Andrew Wiggins’ request for a religious exemption from the San Francisco Public Health Department’s order requiring all participants over the age of 12 to be vaccinated with COVID-19 during a big indoor event. Wiggins won’t be able to play the Warriors House Play Games until he meets the town’s immunization requirements. “
