Muhammad was born 1,400 years ago in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is believed to have changed the course of world history. He was not only a spiritual genius, but he also had extreme political gifts, and his name is among the greatest leaders in world history. He laid the foundation for a religion such that after his death he developed a culture and civilization that spread around the world and also inspired some of the finest architecture. But today, Islam is seen as at the heart of the conflicts our world faces, and Muhammad’s name is associated with some of the most controversial acts. Outside of the Islamic world, almost nothing is known about Muhammad. Through this lecture, students will gain a better understanding of the origins of Islam and explore the complexities of Muhammad’s life story. This lecture can help enrich the minds of students with knowledge and alleviate some of the misconceptions and myths associated with the name of Muhammad.
