Following on the heels of the emotional discussions generated by Sarah’s Key which was set in WWII Paris, we return to the same topic – dealing with the “Jewish Problem” -- this time from the perspective of the German people during the same time period. Our April selection, The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, is a heart-warming yet disturbing story that will trigger many emotions in the reader. It’s a book that at first may be difficult to grasp, but once into it you won’t want to put it down. | ||
